The Vijayanagar Empire, which ruled over South India from the 14th to the 17th century, is often regarded as one of the most prosperous and culturally rich empires in Indian history. This paper examines the administration and economy of the Vijayanagar Empire, focusing on its sophisticated administrative structure, economic policies, and trade networks. Through this analysis, the paper also explores how these historical systems can offer insights for contemporary governance and economic strategies. The research highlights the centralization of power, the role of land revenue systems, and the empire’s engagement in domestic and international trade, contributing to its prosperity. Furthermore, this study draws parallels between the empire’s economic strategies and modern practices in governance and economics.
