Abstract

Food allergies are increasingly recognized as a global health issue with profound effects beyond physical symptoms, significantly influencing psychological well-being and quality of life (QoL). This article explores the interplay between food allergies, anxiety, and QoL, particularly from a homeopathic perspective. Individuals with food allergies often experience heightened anxiety due to the fear of accidental exposure to allergens, leading to social isolation and reduced emotional well-being. The constant need for dietary vigilance and fear of anaphylaxis contribute to generalized anxiety, panic attacks, and social withdrawal, which further diminish QoL. Homeopathic treatment, with its individualized approach, offers significant potential in addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of food allergies. This article reviews current evidence linking food allergies with anxiety and impaired QoL, emphasizing the importance of psychological assessments and holistic treatment in homeopathic practice. By addressing mental and emotional states alongside physical symptoms, homeopathy provides a comprehensive framework for improving both mental health and QoL in individuals affected by food allergies.
