Abstract

The increasing consumption of packaged foods has raised concerns about health risks associated with food additives, preservatives, and misleading labeling practices. This study explores the insights of medical professionals regarding packaged food labels and their potential health risks. Through a structured survey, responses were gathered from a diverse group of medicos, including physicians, dietitians, and nutritionists. The study assesses their understanding of food labels, the importance of nutritional information, and the impact of ingredients such as trans fats, high sodium content, and artificial additives on public health. The findings reveal that while most medicos are aware of the risks associated with these foods, many express concerns over the lack of consumer education and transparency in labelling. Recommendations for enhancing food labelling regulations and public awareness campaigns to mitigate health risks are also discussed. This study emphasizes the critical role medical professionals play in advocating for healthier food choices and more transparent labelling practices.
