IMPACT OF WAR AND ITS LOSS IN KAZUO ISHIGURO’S A PALE VIEW OF HILLS

Abstract

War is a destructive force that present throughout the human history and it creates a great loss to the human beings. The suffering and destruction of world war creates a great impact on all over the world especially in Japan. The World War II in Japan ends with severe bomb attack in Hiroshima and Nagasaki by United States of America. So many people died and still now the country suffers from war trauma. Kazuo Ishiguro is a Japanese born British writer, who portrays the war impacts and it loss in Japan through his writings. He has written so many novels with Japanese background describing the condition of people after World Wars especially after the bomb attack. This paper attempts to portray the Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel A Pale View of Hills which deals with the personal and financial trauma faced by the characters due to war and it also documents the life of people after the post-war.
