Abstract

Digital India was initiated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, on July 2, 2015, with the goal of transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The campaign encompasses nine pillars, including broadband highways, universal access to mobile connectivity, a public internet access program, e-governance, e-kranti, information for all, electronic manufacturing, IT for jobs, and an early harvest program. Its main goal is to provide Indian citizens with government services via electronic means. This article examines the goals of Digital India, its vision areas, and the array of services provided by the initiative, including E-sign, E-Hospital, the MY GOV platform, Attendance.gov.in, Digital Lockers, the National Scholarship Portal, BharatNet, E-Kranti, and E-Pragati. It also outlines the numerous developments that India is anticipated to accomplish by 2019.
