A Study on Minimum Chi-Square Type Estimators

Abstract

The chi-square type estimators for the multinomial set-up. The estimators obtained by minimizing the distance functions ????????(p, ????(????)) are BAN estimators laving the same asymptotic properties as the m.1. estimators. Rao (1961,63) introduced the concept of second order efficiency (s.o.e.) to discriminate different BAN estimators. He has also given a procedure of computing the second order efference of BAN estimators for the multinomial set-up.
