FUMIGRAIN POISONING

Abstract

Fumigrain is a commonly available fumigant containing carbon tetrachloride and ethylene dibromide in the ratio of 3:1 . It is a commonly used grain preservative for wheat , rice, gram etc . Human poisoning with fumigrain (suicidal ingestion) has not been reported yet in the literature. We report a successful management of a 55 years old female with suicidal ingestion of 2 vials of fumigrain. Treatment remained supportive, gastric manage and no specific antidote .
