Abstract
When compared to layer-by-layer melting, Selective Laser Melting (SLM) is the preferred method for creating complex and unique components using Additive Manufacturing (AM). Optimising the SLM method to create very dense AlSi10Mg alloy components is the focus of this research. Optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to examine the AM produced specimens for macro and micro structural examination, respectively
