THE EFFECTS OF PEER MENTORING ON STUDENTS' EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING.
Abstract
Peer mentoring has emerged as a valuable approach to fostering emotional well-being among students, offering a supportive framework that encourages personal growth, resilience, and social connection. This study explores the effects of peer mentoring on students' emotional well-being across various educational settings. Drawing on both qualitative and quantitative data, the research examines how mentoring relationships influence self-esteem, stress management, and a sense of belonging within the school community. It further investigates the roles of mentor training, program structure, and the quality of mentor-mentee interactions in achieving positive outcomes. The findings highlight that effective peer mentoring not only reduces feelings of isolation and anxiety but also empowers students with practical strategies for emotional regulation and problem-solving. This research contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting peer mentoring as a cost-effective, scalable intervention to promote mental health and enhance the overall school experience. Recommendations for implementing successful peer mentoring programs and addressing challenges such as mismatched pairs and sustainability are also discussed. The information used in this study was gathered from different online sources, numerous research papers published in different journals and articles.
