Abstract

The combination of global and local cultures is the distinguishing feature of contemporary Indian English literature. Among these influences, American ideals—rooted in individualism, capitalism, democracy, and cultural pluralism—have emerged as recurring themes. This paper explores how Indian authors reflect, adapt, and critique these ideals within the Indian socio-cultural and historical context.
