POLITICAL LEADERSHIP STYLES AND THEIR IMPACT ON POLICY OUTCOMES
Abstract
Political leadership styles significantly shape the policies and decisions that define a nation's trajectory. Leaders employ different approaches to governance, each influencing policy outcomes in unique ways. This paper explores the various political leadership styles—democratic, authoritarian, transformational, and transactional—and examines their respective impacts on policy outcomes. Democratic leadership, which encourages participation and inclusiveness, often results in policies that reflect the diverse needs and interests of the population. These leaders tend to focus on consensus-building, accountability, and transparency. While this can lead to policies that are more broadly supported, it may also result in slower decision-making processes due to the necessity of negotiation and compromise.
