Abstract

This paper explores the themes of dislocation and hybridity in Ama Ata Aidoo's play "The Dilemma of a Ghost." Set behind the ground of postcolonial Ghana, the play explores the complexities of identity, cultural conflict, and the challenges of reconsidering the eventual moralities with modern influences. By examining the experiences of Eulalie Yawson and Ato Yawson, Aidoo portrays the struggles of characters caught between different worlds. This analysis underscores the broader implications for postcolonial African identity and the ongoing negotiation of cultural hybridity and dislocation.
