Abstract

The timelines for the development, demonstration, and commercial ease of use of the different technologies are given special consideration. The creation and implementation of coal-based gasification technologies for power production are reviewed in this paper. The current state of gasification throughout the world is discussed, as well as the different process and technological choices. The use of gasification for power production is next discussed, along with the benefits and drawbacks of this method of coal use.
