Abstract

ABSTRACT: This project focuses on the structural analysis and design of a multi-storied residential building using ETABS, a powerful structural analysis software widely used in the construction industry. The objective is to ensure the building’s structural stability, safety, and serviceability under various load conditions, including dead loads, live loads, wind loads, and seismic forces, as per relevant Indian Standard Codes (IS Codes). The building model is developed and analyzed for different parameters such as story drift, deflections, shear forces, bending moments, and load distributions. Key structural elements, including beams, columns, slabs, and foundations, are designed to optimize material usage while maintaining safety margins. The software’s 3D modeling capability allows for realistic simulation of the structural behavior under dynamic loading conditions, helping to predict performance in earthquake-prone areas. The outcome of this project ensures that the building complies with the required design criteria, enhancing both safety and sustainability. The use of ETABS streamlines the design process, enabling efficient analysis, reducing manual errors, and providing detailed reports for practical implementation.
