Abstract

Food security in Kerala, a state in southwestern India, is a complex and multifaceted issue influenced by various factors. Kerala has made significant progress in several socio-economic indicators, but challenges related to food security persist. Addressing food security in Kerala requires a comprehensive approach that encompasses agricultural reforms, sustainable development, climate resilience, social safety nets, and nutritional awareness. Policymakers need to work towards enhancing the state's self-sufficiency in food production while also ensuring equitable access to nutritious food for all residents.
