Abstract

A compact pentagonal-shaped slot antenna is proposed in multiband applications. A T-shaped patch on one side of the substrate acts as the antenna. The patch's top surface includes a serrated edge for increased bandwidth. A 50-microstrip line supplies power to the antenna. A Defective ground structure inserts a pentagonal slot into the antenna's ground plane. The antenna features a small physical structure, measuring 30 x 30 x 1.6 mm, and is printed on a FR4 epoxy substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4. Ansys HFSS is used to run simulations. The proposed antenna has a -10 dB magnitude for frequency bands 2.5-3.02 GHz, 4.59-7.053 GHz, and 13.06-13.48 GHz, enabling it to be used for various multiband applications
