ENHANCING WORKFORCE CAPABILITIES: A STUDY OF TRAINING PRACTICES IN STATE BANK OF INDIA
Abstract
This study examines the impact of workforce training programs on employee performance and organizational success within the State Bank of India (SBI). Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys, interviews, and document analysis to provide a comprehensive understanding of SBI's training practices. The survey achieved a 65% response rate, revealing that 85% of employees reported improved job performance due to training, with a 15% increase in productivity among trained staff. Interviews highlighted enhanced problemsolving skills and better customer interactions as significant benefits of the training programs. A positive correlation between training frequency and performance (beta coefficient of 0.45, p < 0.05) underscores the importance of continuous learning. The study aligns with previous research, reinforcing the necessity of personalized learning plans and continuous feedback mechanisms. Practical implications suggest that SBI's training practices can serve as a model for other banks, emphasizing the incorporation of digital learning platforms and personalized training plans. Future research should explore the long-term effects of training programs and the effectiveness of digital learning, particularly in emerging economies. The findings confirm the critical role of comprehensive training programs in maintaining high performance standards and achieving sustained organizational success in the banking sector
