EFFECT OF CONTINUOUS TRAINING AND INTERVAL TRAINING ON CARDIORESPIRATORY ENDURANCE AMONG COLLEGE BOYS
Abstract
The present study was designed to find out the effect of continuous training and interval training on Cardiorespiratory Endurance among college boys. The study was formulated as a true random group design, consisting of a pre test and post test. The subjects (n=60) were randomly assigned to three equal groups of twenty college boys in each group. The groups were assigned as Experimental Groups I, II, and control group respectively. Experimental group I was assigned as Continuous Training experimental group II was assigned as Interval Training and the control group was strictly under control not involving any special training. Pre tests were conducted for all the subjects on Cardiorespiratory Endurance. The experimental groups participated in their respective training protocols for a period of twelve weeks. After the experimental period, the post tests were conducted on the above said dependent variables for all the three groups. The difference between the initial and final scores on each variable was considered the effect of respective treatments. selected variable was tested through ANCOVA. In all cases 0.05 level was fixed to test the hypothesis.
