Abstract

In an era of unprecedented data generation, data mining has emerged as a pivotal tool for uncovering global trends in nutrition and dietary habits. This paper explores the application of advanced data mining techniques to large-scale datasets, including food consumption surveys, nutritional databases, and health records, to identify patterns and trends in dietary behaviors across different populations and regions. The study emphasizes the integration of various data sources, enabling a comprehensive analysis of factors influencing dietary habits, such as cultural preferences, socioeconomic status, and geographic location. By employing techniques such as clustering, association rule mining, and time-series analysis, the research uncovers critical insights into the evolution of global dietary patterns, highlighting shifts towards processed foods, increased sugar intake, and varying levels of adherence to recommended dietary guidelines. Furthermore, the study addresses the implications of these trends on public health, particularly concerning the rising incidence of diet-related non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The findings suggest that data mining can play a crucial role in informing public health strategies, enabling policymakers to design targeted interventions aimed at promoting healthier dietary practices. Additionally, the paper discusses the potential of predictive modeling to forecast future trends in nutrition, thus aiding in the anticipation of emerging public health challenges. This research underscores the significance of leveraging data mining for global nutrition surveillance, ultimately contributing to the development of more effective and sustainable dietary guidelines.
