AGRICULTURAL LANDUSE AND CROPPING PATTERN IN NASHIK DISTRICT, OF MAHARASHTRA
Abstract
The research is based on secondary data, the crop area data is taken from District statistical handbook. Agriculture is said to be the backbone of the Indian economy. Geographical, social, economic, technological and political factors affect this agriculture. Due to these factors, the crop pattern is changing and the actual use under the soil is also changing. Population growth is considered to be one of the most important factors in changing actual land use. From the said research it is noticed that the traditional crops of Nashik district are being transformed into cash crops. It is mainly seen in the growth of various crops like grapes, vegetables and onions and the main crop in the hilly areas of Nashik district is rice. The agricultural data taken for the said research is from the year 2021 -22 years and the period for land use is from 2011 to 2021 year.
