SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF PYRAZOLE CONTANING NOVEL LIGAND AND ITS METAL COMPLEXES

Abstract

In present research work, we synthesised novel hetertocyclic ligand namely, 5-((3-((1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)methyl)-5-(4-bromophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-8-hydroxy quinoline (BIBPHQ) from 5-chloromethyl-8-hydroxy quinoline and 1-((5-(4-bromophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)methyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole (BIBP). The BIBP was synthsised by the reaction between hydrazine hydrate with 1-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)-4-(4-bromophenyl) but-3-en-2-one (BICB), which was synthesisd from 1-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)propan-2-one (BIP) and 4-bromobenzaldehyde. The transition metal complxes of 5-((3-((1H-benzo[d] imidazol-1-yl)methyl)-5-(4-bromophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-8-hydroxy quinoline (BIBPHQ) were sythsised and characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopic data analysis, metal: ligand ratio and magnetic properties. The antibacterial and antifungal activity of BIBPHQ ligand and its all metal complexes were screened.
