Abstract

Development of agriculture of a region implies changes in the entire agricultural system with an overall progress in the existing agricultural activities. This becomes possible due to the adoption of modern inputs in agriculture in lieu of traditional method but the adoption of the modern inputs is not used uniformly all over the region. It depends on the nature of relief, soil and availability of different inputs namely irrigation, fertilizer and high yielding variety of seeds, pesticides and the use of implements together with awareness among the farmers. Supportive public policies also play an important role. In fact, of these modern inputs are used properly, the development of agriculture becomes extensive otherwise the reverse effect is reflected. The present research bears the distribution of crops in Murshidabad district.
