Abstract: This paper investigates the challenges and opportunities in assessing the nutritional value of hotel buffets, a critical aspect of ensuring guest satisfaction and promoting healthy eating habits. The increasing demand for transparency in nutritional information has led hotels to explore innovative methods for accurately assessing and communicating the nutritional content of buffet offerings. However, several challenges hinder the effective implementation of these methods, including variability in food preparation, portion sizes, and the complexity of providing real-time nutritional data in a dynamic buffet setting. The study explores the integration of digital nutrition analysis tools, smart portion control systems, and real-time data collection technologies as potential solutions to these challenges. Digital tools, such as mobile apps and software, offer enhanced accuracy and accessibility of nutritional information, allowing guests to make informed dietary choices. Smart portion control systems help in standardizing portion sizes, thereby improving the consistency of nutritional assessments and reducing food waste. Additionally, real-time data collection through IoT devices and sensors enables continuous monitoring of food quality and safety, ensuring that the nutritional value of buffet items is maintained throughout the service period. Through case studies and practical analysis, this paper evaluates the effectiveness of these technologies in improving buffet operations. The results indicate that the adoption of technological solutions leads to enhanced guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and sustainability. Guests benefit from the transparency and accuracy of the nutritional information provided, while hotels gain insights into guest preferences and dietary trends, enabling more tailored and responsive buffet offerings. However, the study also identifies several challenges that must be addressed for successful implementation. These include the high initial costs of technology adoption, the need for comprehensive staff training, and concerns about data privacy and security. Furthermore, maintaining the accuracy and relevance of nutritional information requires continuous updates to reflect changes in recipes and portion sizes.
